Meet our Board of Directors, a team passionate about classical Christian education because they've seen it bear good fruit in their own lives and the lives of their children.

Mark grew up in a non-classical Christian school, and he experienced a draw to the ministry at a young age. This led him to study philosophy and Ancient Greek at the University of Missouri in Columbia, the town where he was raised. After years of avoiding this calling, he returned to ministry by serving his local church in various volunteer leadership roles, which eventually led him to the pastorate as a full-time vocation. He has held multiple leadership positions during his ministry experience and led as the Lead Pastor of Redeemer Fellowship Church in Lenexa, Kansas, since 2023. 

Mark and his wife, Rachelle, are licensed foster care parents, and the Lord has also blessed them with two biological daughters of their own, Lucia (8) and Prudence (5). Their interest in classical Christian education first took root when their oldest daughter was approaching school age, and they have been eager learners and zealous proponents of the classical model ever since. Mark is excited about the opportunity to serve Knox Classical School and contribute to its growth and flourishing.

Amanda received her Bachelor of Arts in graphic design with a minor in English.  Amanda is the former publisher and editor of Trouvé Magazine, an art and lifestyle publication.  After having her first child, Jack, Amanda knew she desired the creative and once-in-a-lifetime experience of being very involved in her children’s education—while ultimately fostering a deep relationship with them spiritually.  God opened the door for Jack to be in the inaugural kindergarten class at Knox Classical, which has been the perfect balance of classroom and family time for all members of the Marko family. 

Growing up in the homeschool community, Amanda is passionate about the classical approach to Christian education and is eager to share—now as a parent—her finding of value not only in the traditional school setting, but the incredible bond that parent-led educating part-time has brought to her family.

Amanda lives in Leawood with her husband David and two children, Jack and Jane, where they are members of Redeemer Presbyterian Church.

Mike’s time in the California Public School system left him wishing that he’d never have to read another book or write anything in his life.  But by God’s grace, he attended Patrick Henry College, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Government (American Politics & Policy).  Along the way, he developed a love for learning and for seeking justice and mercy, and he knew that he’d like to educate his children in a way that would give them the same loves far earlier in life. 


Mike graduated from the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia, working for a top litigation firm in D.C. and a U.S. Senator on the Senate Judiciary Committee before God moved him, his wife Katie, and their five children to Kansas City.  He’s now in private legal practice at an international litigation firm in Kansas City.  Mike’s an Eagle Scout and loves the outdoors, baseball, making coffee, working on the family cars, and playing music with the worship team at his church.
