Primer School (Kindergarten)
Exploring Scripture and creation with humility, excellence, and wonder starts at the very beginning for Knox Classical students.
Our kindergarteners hear the entire story of the Bible and enjoy a flyover of all of human history that begins with God creating and ends with Him returning—training them, from their earliest years, to view everything that happens as a part of our faithful God’s plan.
They practice their penmanship, build phonemic awareness, master many of their phonograms, and jump into the joys of spelling and reading. They begin pondering the world of numbers, laying a solid foundation to know not just how math works but also why it works.
They relish hands-on science demonstrations; memorize Scripture, poetry, and a history timeline; read scores of beautiful books; and begin creating visual art and music to the glory of God while cultivating a taste for excellence through picture and composer studies.
Our faculty graciously train our kindergarteners in habits of attentiveness, obedience, excellence, and orderliness, and they delight in infusing students’ days with joy as they learn what God has made and what He’s done.
